WYE VALLEY RUNNERS CHRISTMAS PARTY – 18 DECEMBER

September 8, 2010

Hi Everyone

Yesterday the venue contacted me requesting confirmed numbers for our party at the Hickory Stick, Leominster Golf Club. The price includes meal, ten-pin bowling and disco.

Apologies there has been a price increase to £33.50 (due to change in menu). Cost of transport from club is not included in this price.

If you wish to attend please can you confirm your attendance by adding your name to the sheet which is on the board down the club. Alternatively if you cannot get to the club you can contact me. Also please confirm if you require transport from the Rowing Club. Departure time TBC.

Confirmed numbers are required by 13 September 2010.

Many thanks

Gail

INTER-CLUB TRIATHLON RELAY AND CARIBBEAN NIGHT

August 25, 2010

The Rowing Club have invited all Wye Valley members to join them at their end of season party taking place in the clubhouse on Friday 3 September. It will be a “Caribbean” theme party, so grass skirts and loud shirts can be worn if you feel in the mood !

The party starts at 8.00 PM, but as a warm-up we have arranged an Inter-club Triathlon Relay Challenge which will start at 6.00 PM.

With the kayakers also taking part, teams of three will be picked comprising one each from Wye Valley, Rowing club and Kayak Club. To make it interesting, the Rowing Club member will be put in a kayak and the Kayak Club member will be going for a run. This leaves the Wye Valley member who won’t have to get in a boat but will be using a rowing machine instead.( At least you can’t capsize a rowing machine).

The emphasis will be to have fun, so please come along to join in and feel free to bring family and friends.

WYE VALLEY RUNNERS – AUGUST UPDATE

August 11, 2010

We are continuing our monthly new routes with a run on Monday 16 August from The Bell Inn at Tillington.

The aim will be to run most of the Crocodile 8 route with a shorter option as well. We will meet at 6.00 PM for a 6.15 start. The pub has given us kind permission to use their car park and we can help to show our appreciation by stopping for a drink afterwards. There is still the choice to run from the Rowing Club on that night if you prefer.

Ralph Lloyd is organising another canoe trip on Sunday 5 September. These have proved to be great fun in previous years and all members and their families are invited. Full details are on the noticeboard and will also be posted on the club website.
