Summer cross country league

The next race is at Westhope on Wednesday 21 July, starting at 7.30 PM. The previous races have been well supported, so we hope to have a good number of Wye Valley runners taking part.

There will still be the option to run from the Rowing Club on that night for those who can’t get to Credenhill.

AGM

The club’s AGM will take place at the Rowing Club on Friday 5 November , starting at 7.30 PM. As well as the formal business, there will be an open forum and free food in the bar afterwards.

Annual awards

This year we will be announcing the winners of the club’s annual awards at the AGM in November. The male and female Mighty Oak awards will be presented to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution during the year. These awards can recognise support for others and helping with club activities as well as individual running achievements. In addition, this year there will also be an award for the “Most improved runner”. This will be given to someone who has shown the most improvement in their running during the past twelve months.

All members will have the opportunity to vote for the individuals that they feel should receive these awards and voting forms will be available in due course.

All the best.

Dave

Any one for a longer training run, 20 miles perhaps?

Longer Training Run?

23 mile run every Sunday is part of my London running club’s training runs. Partly inspired by this, I would like to start a 20 miles group at Wye Valley Runners.
I am not completely sure of the ins and out just yet however I am proposing at least 20 miles on a weekend, perhaps just adding another 12-13 miles to the usual 7-8 mile run in the woods on Sunday?

The run does not have to be every Sunday, we can do it once a month? Suggestions welcomed.

People who are potentially interested are:

  • Phil Butler
  • Adam
  • Temi Odurinde
  • Ian Matthews
  • Suggestion from Ian Mathews follows

I will be glad to join the sunday 20 mile club, and when fit for it will
lead off road run from Hereford to Ledbury, returning by train or bus, its
approx 18 miles and have been running the route for many years. Its a superb run
    and very little road.
