THE MUDDY WOODY 6
14 FEBRUARY 2010 (11.00 AM START)
If you have a place in the race, we hope you will find the following information useful.
Anyone who enclosed a stamped addressed envelope with their entry should have received acknowledgement. If you are unsure whether your entry had been accepted you can e-mail davesherwood99@aol.com for confirmation.
Having reached our entry limit we will not be able to accept any more entries and there won’t be any extra places available on the day. We have already made an allowance that several people who have places will not turn up on the day and this should reduce the numbers actually taking part to a manageable level. For this reason we are not able to have a reserve list to replace any dropouts. We would love to be able to increase the number of runners, but the limited parking and narrow tracks mean that this would risk spoiling the event for everyone.
Race numbers will be issued on the day from the registration area which will be situated near the start and clearly signposted.
Directions to the start will be signposted from Mordiford. Please arrive early as parking restrictions may mean that you will have to leave your car some distance from the start. If this is the case, you may not have time to return to your car between collecting your number and the start of the race. We therefore suggest that you go to registration in your race kit. There will be an area near the start where you can leave bags.
Please come prepared for the likely conditions. Unless there is a hard frost there will be lots of wet mud. Please be aware of the natural hazards that you are likely to find when running through woodland areas, in particular exposed tree roots, loose stones and uneven ground.
There will be signs and arrows to show you the way and marshalls will be placed at regular intervals to offer help and encouragement. If for any reason you need to pull out from the race then please tell the nearest marshall and give them your race number. This is important, for safety reasons, in order to make sure that we can account for every runner taking part.
Please take any litter away with you and note that the barriers to the parking area will be locked at 2.00 PM.
Most important of all – enjoy yourself and have a good run. Your reward will be your finishers T shirt and hot drinks which will be waiting for you at the end of the race.
