Muddy Woody 6
A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the race a great success. Even though we had plenty of members running, there were many of you who helped with various duties, before, after and on the day itself. Anyone who helped is entitled to a free Muddy Woddy t-shirt. If you haven’t yet received yours then please see Les Chamberlain.
Presteigne crosss country
The final race of the winter cross country league takes place on Sunday 28 February. 11.00 AM start, with presentations after the race.
Cotswold Way Relay
We have provisionally entered two teams for the relay which takes place on Saturday 26 June and need 10 runners for each team. There will be a meeting in the Rowing Club bar at 7.30 PM on Monday 1 March to discuss the plans for this year’s race, so if you are interested then please come along. Further details can be found at www.cotswoldwayrelay.co.uk .If you want to get involved but can’t get to the meeting, it will be helpful if you can e-mail Phil Butler philip_butler@talk21.com so that we can get an idea of numbers.
Track session
We have booked the Leisure Centre athletics track on Wednesday 10 March. If you would like a change from the routine road runs, the track session starts at 6.30 PM. You can either meet at the Leisure Centre or run from the Rowing Club ( 6.15 ), if you would prefer a warm-up.
5K time trial
As another change on a Wednesday night, there will be a time trial organised on Wednesday 17 March. Meet at the Rowing Club as usual at 6.15 PM, there will then be a timed run, starting along Breinton Lanes and then returning along the river bank. This isn’t just for the speed merchants, anyone can take part.
With talk of runs along the riverbank, we will soon have lighter evenings and the chance to get out into the countryside instead of the city streets. From the start of April we can then start to meet at West Wood on Friday nights. More details to follow …………
All the best.
Dave
